CAJUN GUM COOKING CLASS - A Cajun gumbo cooking class will be taught on Thursday evening January 15, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. - 8: pm. Class will include instruction, recipes, meal with salad and dessert. You must register E January 9. Seating limited. Fee: 20.00 /person. Instructor: Mike Thompson, IFPC and Daughter, Amanda Thompson, Member Alabama State Culinary Team Bronze Medalist, National Culinary Competition

Senior Citizens Christmas Party - The annual Senior Citizens' Christmas Party, sponsored by the Recreation Department, will be held at the Sheffield Senior Citizens Center on December 16. All Senior Citizens are invited for the fun, food and fellowship. The party will begin at 10:30 am.

Red Cross Lifeguard Class - A lifeguard training course will be taught in the indoor pool beginning in March. Class will include CPR and First Aid Training. Participants must be at least 15 years old to sign up for the class. For more information, call the American Red Cross art 764-2911.

Red Cross WSI Class - A Water Safety Instructor class will be taught in the indoor pool beginning May, 2007. Participants must be 16 years old to sign up for the class. For more information, call the American Red Cross at 764-2911.

OIL FAINTING CLASS- An oil painting class will be taught on a continuing basis on Tuesday nights from 6-8 pm. For more information or to register for the class, please call: Ann McCutchen at 383-1185.

BATON TWIRLING CLASS- A baton twirling class for children ages 4 through advanced classes will be taught on Tuesdays beginning at 6:00 m. This is a continuing class and you may sign up for the class at any time. Instructor: Beth Bange. Fee: $35/Month- Additional family member 1/2 price/month

YARN GALA - A yarn gala fun night will be Thursday, September 11 at 6:00 pm at the Recreation Department. Door prizes and lite refreshments will be enjoyed. To reserve your goodie bag call the Recreation Department at 356-5615. Gala co-sponsored by Springer’s Knitting Nook.

ADVANCED KNITTING CLASS - An advanced knitting class will be taught on September 18, 25 October 2, S at 6:00 p.m. Students will work on a cable shawl with pockets out of chucky yarn from England. Instructor: Fat Springer, Springer’s Knitting Nook Fee: $12.00 plus price of yarn

BEGINNING KNITTING CLASS - A beginning knitting class will be taught on February 5, 12, 19, and 26 from 6-8 p.m. Students will learn the basics of knitting. Instructor: Fat Springer, Springer’s Knitting Nook. Fee: $12.00 plus price of yarn

NORTH ROLE MOMS PAY OUT - Bring your children to the North Role Moms Pay Out and leave them while you shop on Saturday, December 6 from 10-2 pm. Children will play bingo, write a letter to Santa, and see a Christmas movie. Lunch will be served Children ages 4-10. You must register in advance at 386-5615. Limited registration. Fee: $20 child / Max $30 family

SEVENTH ANNUAL HUFF n BUFF on the BLUFF 15K Race and Relay is scheduled for March 14, 2009. Sign up information will be announced

HUNTERS SAFETY CLASS- A hunters safety class will meet on Saturday, October 11 from &-12 noon. The first part of the class must I7e completed on line. Participants must register for the class by calling the Recreation Center at 386-5615. No Fee.

HUNTERS SAFETY CLASS - A hunters safety class will meet on Saturday, November 1 from &:00 am - 5:00 pm and Sunday, November 2nd from 1:00 - 5:00 pm. The entire class will be taught on this weekend. Participants must register for the class by calling the Recreation Center at 386-5615- No Fee.

ART CLASSES- Art classes for children in 3rd through 5th grades will begin January 8 and continue for six weeks on Thursday afternoons from 4-5 pm. Art classes will ccontinue each 6 weeks with sufficient enrollment. Instructor: Wendy Myrick. Fee: 6 lessons/ $60 + supplies (call for supply list) Must register by December 31

RIVERFRONT PARK “SHEFFIELD UNDER THE BBLUFF” Free Concert - Riverside Christian Fest. Oct 18, 2008 - 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. Featuring Lenny LeBlanc and other local artist and groups. Bring your lawn chair and invite family and friends for an evening of great Christian Music.
